Red Vanilla’s latest single, ‘Oh No, I Got Older’, is a bittersweet alt-rock gut punch from a band that’s growing louder, tighter, and bolder with every release.

Recorded in a spare room-turned-studio in Dundee and filmed on tour in Thailand, the track feels both intimate and expansive – the sound of a band fully stepping into their own skin. Vocalist Anna Forsyth delivers a performance that’s equal parts defiant and devastating, unpacking the existential dread of getting older with the kind of emotional clarity that makes your stomach drop.

“I love my life,” she says, “even in the hardest of times.”

That’s the beating heart of the song — a celebration of existing, even while haunted by the knowledge that time keeps slipping through your fingers. It’s life-affirming, heartbreaking, and, somehow, a bit euphoric too.

Musically, ‘Oh No, I Got Older’ takes the sharp edge of 90s alt-rock and polishes it into something sleek and modern — a swirling, anthemic storm of guitars and catharsis. It’s got the emotional gravity of Wolf Alice with the urgency of The Beths, but with its own unmistakable Red Vanilla spark.

What’s most exciting is how confident it sounds. You can hear the comfort of recording at home in every note — that sense of freedom and ownership that turns good songs into great ones. It’s less about chasing perfection, more about capturing truth.

Red Vanilla are the real deal — a band with ambition, heart, and something to say.
