If you’ve ever wanted to know what it feels like to be trapped inside a glitter-soaked, fuzz-drenched séance while riding the waltzers at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Tea Eater’s new video for You Again comes pretty close.

Filmed on their UK tour this summer, the clip captures Brooklyn’s finest weirdo art punks in full chaotic bloom – think candy-coloured chaos, jangling nerves, and the sort of camp, cunty fuzz Tea Eater do better than anyone else. Frontwoman Tarra Thiessen doesn’t so much sing as cast incantations, the band summoning a noisy joy that doubles as a spell against mediocrity.

“I sing ‘You Again’ in varying inflections as if I’m auditioning for a part on a sitcom. I didn’t write ‘You Again’ with anyone specific in mind. It can be about an ex that keeps showing up at all your shows, mold creeping back on your shower wall, rats running rampant in NYC, or the same ad Instagram refuses to believe isn’t relevant to you.

“We filmed this music video during Tea Eater’s June 2025 U.K. tour. It’s mostly shot in Blackpool, England with some b-roll from Brighton. There’s no denying that Blackpool left an impression on us. It was charming in a David Lynch way. Full of character, grime, and a sense of unsettling nostalgia. I shot the music video on my DVcam before our show at the Bootleg Social; and later that night at our weird, old hotel.”

It’s the latest single from their brilliant second album I Don’t Believe in Bad Luck (released earlier this year on limited edition blue vinyl, naturally accompanied by their own custom tarot deck – because why just release a record when you can alter the universe?). With this video, they’re also announcing pre-orders for the full Tea Eater Tarot Deck, a fittingly magical extension of their world.

Tea Eater

Tea Eater have built their reputation on ecstatic, off-kilter live shows – sharing stages with everyone from Thee Oh Sees to Death Valley Girls – and You Again bottles some of that lightning. It’s weird, witty, and absolutely LOUD WOMEN-approved.

Turn it up, draw a card, and let Tea Eater rewrite your reality.
