Anarchistwood bring a joyful, colourful chaos wherever they go – and we cannot wait to host them at our next gig! Not long to wait – it’s this Saturday 12th Feb at the Hope and Anchor! They’ll be raising the roof, along with Deuxes, Dinosaur Skull, Cult of Doris and Silver Fern. In the meantime, here’s a 5 question interview with Anarchistwood’s chief prankrocker, Frank …
- For people who’ve not heard you play live before, what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gig?
2. What’s the most important thing we need to know about your band/act right now?
anarchistwood have a new album called Chiasmata out 10th March 2022.
This is the album we were recording when we lost Candi to the universe and is the last Anarchistwood album that he recorded on. Anarchistwood was supposed to be a 8 album contract with the universe – this was the fifth recorded so in a bending of time and space we have leapfrogged to album number 8 – this one. Albums 5, 6 and 7 will come out in due course.
3. If you had to do a cover at the gig, what cover would you choose to play?
Our regular covers that we do are Minor Threat’s Straight Edge, The Tube’s White Punks and we have in the past covered †he Fugs River of Shit, Wonk Unit’s Plasterer, Black Flag’s Fix Me and Peaches Fuck the Pain Away. I’d like to do a version of Smackwater Jack by Carole King – she’s a great song writer.
4. Pass the mic – who are your top 3 contemporary bands?
Rites of Hadda, Jemma Freeman and the Cosmic Something, Wendy Rae Fowler plus a cheeky fourth The Sinictones!
