We can’t quite believe it’s taken us this long, but on Wednesday 4 November, x-blu will be playing their very first LOUD WOMEN gig! And this one’s particularly special, because the band’s frontwoman, the wonderful Dani Tagen, is already a much-loved member of Team LOUD WOMEN.
Dani is one of our hardest-working photographers, regularly capturing the bands, audiences and unforgettable moments that make our gigs and festivals so special. She’s also occasionally roped into co-hosting our LOUD WOMEN radio show on Resonance 104.4FM. But this time, we’re delighted that she’ll be swapping her camera for a microphone and taking centre stage herself!
Meet x-blu
Fronted by Dani, x-blu make deliciously unconventional avant-garde post-punk, blending edgy guitars, electronica, soulful touches and a healthy disregard for musical boundaries. Their sound is distinctive, inventive and full of personality, much like Dani herself.

We’re huge believers in celebrating the people who make our grassroots music community what it is, and Dani has given so much of her time, talent and energy to helping other artists shine. We really couldn’t be more excited to have her on the other side of the camera for once.
A night of friends at The Bread & Roses
And honestly, we couldn’t have picked a lovelier bill for x-blu’s LOUD WOMEN debut.
They’ll be joined by two more absolute favourites: Charley Stone, an extraordinary musician and songwriter who has graced countless LOUD WOMEN stages, and MIRI, whose gorgeous soulful rebel pop and tireless support for grassroots music have made her another treasured member of the family.
As if that weren’t enough, the gig itself will be run on the night by our wonderful friend Tee from Wokerati Party. So it’s a proper gathering of friends, onstage and off.
We’re heading to the brilliant Bread & Roses in Clapham, a female-run, trade union-owned pub that’s exactly the sort of independent venue we love supporting.
Three wonderful artists, a room full of lovely people and the sort of warm, welcoming DIY atmosphere that LOUD WOMEN is all about.
