Giddy up, jingle horse! It’s the annual LOUD WOMEN x Crossroads of Progress Christmas party! Ho ho ho!

We’re heading back to our favourite venue, the Hope & Anchor in Islington, on Saturday 12 December for a right proper festive knees-up. Tickets are on sale now, and we’ve been promised our traditional Christmas raffle and some special guest appearances. All this AND four bands? Someone’s been very good this year.

Beaker are Oxford’s riot grrrl-era indie rock legends, hermetically sealed since the ’90s and only recently released back into the wild. Somebody dig out the CD Walkman, dust off the Heather Shimmer lipstick and find that mixtape you made for your crush. They’re back, they’re glorious as ever, and we’re absolutely delighted to have them.

The Charlemagnes. Who even ARE these mysterious, snotty garage-punk characters? Depending on who you ask, they hail from New Jersey, the South Bronx or South London. It’s all entirely true. Probably. Listening too closely to their lyrics may offer some clues, although we wouldn’t recommend doing so without a lawyer present.

I, Doris, the LOUD WOMEN house band, will be fresh from a 2026 world tour taking in Germany, the USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Wales. They’ll no doubt be dazzling us with their Bondi suntans, outrageous tales of international adventure, possibly a slideshow, and undoubtedly enormous credit card bills.

London Bones are legends of the Egham scene, bringing infectious grooves, distinctive lyrics and a big, cinematic sound to the Hope & Anchor. The streets of Egham will be unusually quiet that night.

Four absolute gifts of bands, wrapped up and offered to you as a little festive present from us to you. You’re welcome!
