LOUD WOMEN is thrilled to premiere the brand new video for The Schla La Las’ comeback single ‘Gotta Go’. Nearly 20 years since their heyday as the darlings of the UK’s debauched indie-rock scene, the all-girl pop & roll five-piece are back – and sounding sharper, funnier and wilder than ever.
‘Gotta Go’ is a re-mastered blast from the band’s original 00s arsenal: part garage-punk sugar rush, part disco riot, all wrapped up in the playful swagger that made them so unmissable first time round. Like a shot of JD straight to the back of the throat, the song burns, fizzes and leaves you grinning – with close harmonies and duelling guitars cranking up the chaos.
The video captures their spirit perfectly: pure DIY fun, full of spark and cheek.
Back in the 00s, The Schla La Las were everywhere – dazzling festival crowds at Bestival, Blissfields and Truck, playing Marc Riley sessions on BBC 6 Music, and appearing in the press alongside Florence Welch, Paloma Faith and Beth Ditto. Now, with their second single since reforming, they’re proving they’ve still got the magic – and the mischief – that made them stand out.
This isn’t just any old reunion, though – it’s a family affair. The Schla La Las feature LOUD WOMEN lifers Piney Gir (a regular host of our Resonance FM radio show) and Delia Sparrow (who runs The Lexington – where, fittingly, we’ll be throwing our LOUD WOMEN birthday bash on 4 Oct … thanks Delia!).

‘Gotta Go’ is out now digitally via No Distance Records, and will land on 7” vinyl this November as part of the band’s forthcoming EP.
