Pontypridd trio CHROMALOUD WOMEN Fest alumni – return with new single ‘Riverhouse’, out today on Alcopop! Records. It’s a track drenched in fury and love, written in the aftermath of vocalist KT Hall losing a close friend.

Hall describes ‘Riverhouse’ as her “anger stage” of grief, and you can hear every ounce of that in the delivery. Guitars churn like collapsing machinery, drums thump with unrelenting force, and her voice lashes out raw and unvarnished. But it’s never only rage – there’s tenderness beneath the howl, a calling out to the friends who stop you from sinking when everything feels unliveable.

“It’s about reaching out for help when you’re struggling with the tough stuff life throws at you.”

Where their debut Ask For Angela earned a Welsh Music Prize nod for its anthems of solidarity, this is something heavier and more personal. ‘Riverhouse’ trades polish for emotional truth – jagged alt-rock with the weight of early Pixies and the urgency of Sleater-Kinney, grounded in South Wales’ uncompromising landscape.

It’s grief, set at full volume. And it’s CHROMA proving again why they’re one of the most vital voices in UK alt-rock right now.
