Just when you thought summer couldn’t get any gayer or any louder, The Menstrual Cramps come crashing in with their new single ‘Kiss on the pitch’, a sweaty, scrappy queer anthem for the Women’s Euros — and for anyone who’s ever wanted to same-sex-snog a footballer.

‘Kiss on the Pitch’ is a defiant love letter to working-class queer joy, reclaiming football from the toxic masculinity many of us grew up with and turning it into a glitter-drenched playground of possibility. Emilia Elfrida’s vocals swagger and snarl in all the right ways, delivering tongue-in-cheek lines that make you want to pogo down to your local pitch and plant a kiss on the striker.

Beyond the hooks, this single is a love story to community: Easton Cowgirls, Bristol’s anti-fascist, pro-inclusivity women’s team, star in the joyous DIY video, reminding us exactly what football (and punk) should be in 2025 — fearless, fun, and fiercely inclusive.

Football’s coming home — and it’s got rainbow lipstick smudged all over its kit.

We’re absolutely thrilled that The Menstrual Cramps will be playing LOUD WOMEN Fest Bristol on 5 Sept and London on 6 Sept — the perfect band to “double header” (lol) our 10th anniversary year. It feels extra special, since their very first gig was at a LOUD WOMEN night. Full circle, full volume.
