All Thicc - photo by Traveler Trippy

Albuquerque punks All Thicc describe themselves in three words: loud, angry, fun. That’ll do nicely.

Siobhaen Z, Ri, Karra and Jade have been making noise together since just before the world shut down, surviving Covid, releasing two albums and turning catcalling, attacks on abortion rights, abusers and assorted everyday bullshit into songs you can shout back at them.

They’re currently working on a new EP, due later this year, and in November they’re heading to Boulder to join us for LOUD WOMEN Fest Colorado at the Fox Theatre.

We caught up with vocalist Siobhaen to talk getting pissed off, refusing to sanitise uncomfortable subjects, homemade weed brownies, an extremely mysterious alleyway encounter and why sometimes the correct response to a shitty comment is simply: fuck you up.

First things first: where did the name All Thicc come from?

We’re from New Mexico, and the common saying here is “all sick”, so we put our little twist on it.

Who’s in the band?

Siobhaen on vocals, Ri on bass, Karra on drums and Jade on guitar.

Where do you call home, geographically and musically?

Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Describe All Thicc in three words.

Loud. Angry. Fun.

Tell us about your music.

We’re recording a new EP that should be released at the end of the year.

Our last album, There Can Never Be Too Many Fucks, came out in 2025. It’s about a lot of things that piss us off: catcalling, losing abortion rights, abusers.

Take a listen and get pissed with us.

What’s the Albuquerque scene like?

The local scene is great. Lots of cool bands and a really good all-ages scene. We love playing with everyone and always have a great time.

If you could rip up one bit of the music-industry rulebook, what would go first?

I really hate how AI is being incorporated into music and art.

And who cares if you cuss or talk about things that make people uncomfortable?

What’s the strangest thing that’s happened at an All Thicc show?

Someone once made us homemade pot brownies with our logo on them. That was nice!

You’ll also have to ask us about the bizarre encounter in an alleyway where we signed a wall in an abandoned building and what we saw.

Let’s just say unexpected and X-rated.

We have questions.

Which song seems to connect most strongly with people?

One of our top songs is ‘FYU’. It’s made from a bunch of shitty quotes men have actually said to women, things like: “You’d look better if you were skinnier.”

It’s a great singalong and a powerful statement that we will fuck you up!

Has a song ever come from a particularly ridiculous place?

‘Ugly Girl’ was based on my old bassist and the band.

We had some leftover merch and were basically like, “Let’s make a song!”

What’s been the biggest hurdle for the band?

Staying together and motivated during Covid.

We played our first show in December 2019 and only managed a few shows before everything shut down. Keeping the desire to play together and sticking it out was the big thing.

What are you proudest of?

Being able to release albums and music. I’m super proud of our two albums.

What’s the strangest place you’ve played?

We played a shack out in the middle of nowhere on a reservation in Arizona.

It was amazing. Cold, though. That is probably the most clothes I have ever worn at a show.

What still needs ticking off the All Thicc bucket list?

One thing was playing a festival, so: check!

We’d love to play a club show at Punk Rock Bowling. And for a collaboration, I’d love to work with Brody Dalle.

Give us your dream lineup.

If I include what my bandmates like, it would be Taylor Swift, BTS and Primus.

Me? I’d pick The Distillers, The Venomous Pinks and AFI.

So presumably this is now a seven-band bill and absolutely nobody is allowed to object.

What’s next?

We’ve got a few local shows coming up, a mini weekender in Santa Fe and Durango in December, and new music.

And before all that, All Thicc are joining us at LOUD WOMEN Fest Colorado.
