Whoroboros aren’t content with simply making a glorious feminist racket. They’re helping build the stages for other bands to do the same.
The Meanjin-based riot grrrl band proudly describe their music as ‘feminist propaganda’, and if that doesn’t sound like a perfect fit for LOUD WOMEN, we don’t know what does.
With Georgia on vocals and guitar, Lexi on guitar, Steph on bass and Joel on drums, Whoroboros deliver furious, politically charged punk with a distinctly DIY spirit. Their releases include A Body For Every Body and the 2025 split record Big Feelings, shared with fellow Australian punks Wuss.
They’re also old friends of LOUD WOMEN, having played both our Gadigal and Naarm festivals in December 2025.
And this year, they’re back for more!
From the stage to behind the scenes
We’re particularly excited that Whoroboros guitarist and vocalist Georgia Zemanek-Woodrow is helping organise our first ever LOUD WOMEN Fest Meanjin, alongside Riley Doherty of Vipersnatch.
These festivals aren’t parachuted into cities by people who don’t know the local music scene. They’re built in collaboration with the musicians, organisers and communities already doing incredible things there.
Georgia and Riley have been helping bring together a fantastic lineup of local and interstate artists, creating opportunities for bands to connect, collaborate and find new audiences.
It’s exactly what LOUD WOMEN is about: putting more women on more stages, and turning up the volume.
And the best bit? Whoroboros are playing twice this November!
