LOVIET’s ‘FEEDER’ is our Track of the Day

With LOUD WOMEN Fest returning to Halifax this Saturday, what better time to celebrate one of the absolute stars of last year’s festival? LOVIET blew us away at our first Canadian Fest in 2025, and now she’s back with DEBUTANTE (DELUXE), a brilliant new album packed with huge riffs, irresistible hooks and deliciously defiant attitude.

Our Track of the Day is ‘FEEDER’, the final single from DEBUTANTE (DELUXE). It’s a swaggering, guitar-heavy blast of 90s-inspired alt-rock, with a chorus that means business and the sort of production that makes you want to turn the volume up another notch.

LOVIET is the musical project of Canadian singer-songwriter Natalie Lynn, whose music sits somewhere between the grunge-soaked guitars of Courtney Love and the unapologetic pop-rock confidence of Alanis Morissette and Sheryl Crow.

Entirely written and produced by Natalie herself, the seven-track album explores womanhood, relationships, self-discovery and the expectations placed on women in the music industry. It’s a record about growing up, getting angry and getting comfortable with taking up space.

Speaking about ‘FEEDER’, Natalie explains:

“I wrote it about mistrust and leaving something behind and how it shapes you into a stronger, more independent person while keeping you in a state of constant motion and trying to anticipate their every move.”

With its driving guitars, echoing drums and wonderfully assured vocals, ‘FEEDER’ brings DEBUTANTE (DELUXE) to a suitably emphatic close. But don’t stop at this track. From the biting ‘STIFFY‘ and confrontational ‘CHEERLEADER’ to the vulnerability of ‘PLUSH’, the album is well worth hearing in full.

We have particularly fond memories of LOVIET’s set at LOUD WOMEN Fest Halifax 2025, where her powerhouse vocals and massive guitar sound filled every corner of Propeller Arcade. It was one of the standout performances of an unforgettable first festival, and we’re delighted to see her continuing to go from strength to strength.
