Today we’re celebrating 11 years of LOUD WOMEN, and we’re doing it exactly as we should: cramming five brilliant acts into the basement of the legendary Hope & Anchor in Islington and having a party.
Our actual birthday was 3 October, but tonight is when we get to celebrate it properly with all of you. There will be loud music, excellent humans and, crucially, cake.
Pisces kick things off with their gutsy, grunge-tinged alternative rock, followed by Gemma Rogers and her razor-sharp indie-pop and punk hooks. Then it’s I, Doris bringing the kitchenpunk, mummycore and feminist silliness, before Alexandra Leaving turns everything up with huge guitars and powerhouse vocals. Lola Pony rounds off the live music with her wonderfully wonky DIY pop and trashartivist magic.
Tonight’s times
Doors 7pm
7.30 Pisces
8.15 Gemma Rogers
9pm I, Doris

11pm the bumps for everyone 🎂
Eleven years ago LOUD WOMEN started as a little London gig night with one simple aim: put more women on more stages. Since then there have been hundreds of artists, festivals around the UK and overseas, radio shows, records, tours, workshops, Rebellion stages, friendships and an absolutely obscene number of spreadsheets.
Tonight we’re back where it makes the most sense: in a tiny London basement with brilliant independent artists and a room full of people who have helped build this ridiculous, wonderful thing.
Come and celebrate with us.
