Berlin sister duo Record Pink launch the campaign for their forthcoming EP with ‘Won’t Go’ – an infectious indie-pop banger that turns frustration into something you can scream along to.
Written during a late-night session in Berlin, the single captures the feeling of trying your hardest while getting absolutely nowhere. Thankfully, the music has no such problem. Driving guitars, huge harmonies and a chorus that practically begs to be shouted back make ‘Won’t Go’ feel made for sweaty little venues packed with people losing their voices.
You can hear echoes of The Cranberries and Alanis Morissette in the band’s melodic instincts, but Record Pink avoid sounding like a tribute to anyone. Instead, they’ve landed on a confident, hook-filled sound that balances emotional honesty with plenty of punch.
