Alise Elberga caught up with Pryma at Download Festival 2026. The Kent heavy rockers were among the first acts to hit the Doghouse stage in District X, and from everything we heard the crowd turned up ready to mosh, dance and sing along.
Frontwoman Gabby delivers powerhouse vocals that are impossible to ignore, while the band as a whole bring the kind of energy that makes people pay attention. They’ve faced challenges throughout their career because of having a woman fronting the band, a reminder that discrimination in music hasn’t disappeared. Their story is proof that perseverance, talent and a strong team will always get you further than the people trying to hold you back.
Most importantly, though, Alise had to ask: what was their first reaction to hearing the phrase “She’s a LOUD WOMAN”? And would they ever call their mum one?
