London based genre-bending sonic alchemist Kat Five releases follow up to last year’s ‘Switch’, with Kim Gordon influenced track ‘Emergency Start’.
The song interweaves emergency sounds and sirens with driving arpeggiated synths, fierce beats and alluring vocals which culminates in a sonic call to arms to fight against the machine.

Emergency Start was inspired by the art activism of the Hard Art Collective led by Brian Eno, as Kat says:
Culture is a mighty way to inspire and unite people, and we need it more than ever to help combat the horrors of the current world, and build new alternatives. This is a callout to all kinds of creators, and also a shout out for some simple moves you can make against techno-feudalism.
The track was produced, mixed and mastered by an all-female crew of Kat Five, Rookes and Kate Tavini and you can listen to an early live acoustic version on the LOUD WOMEN Radio Show.
Upcoming Live Dates:
14 May – The Font, Brighton
29 May – The Dublin Castle, London
