A new psychedelic post-punk song has arrived, and it sounds a bit like if Florence Welch jammed with early Nirvana. ‘Sertralineless Summers’ is the second single from The Hague-based Lilith Left The Garden.

The song takes its name from lead singer, the Aruban award-winning poet, Lily Clarisa‘s real-life experience:

“Sertraline is my antidepressant. In the summer, to avoid heatstroke I have to lower my dosage, and that’s when the depression creeps back in. Sertralineless Summers is about that spiral: the heat, the exhaustion, the feeling of not being able to hold it together.”

The music certainly creates this sense of uneasiness and withdrawal with its droning atmosphere and off-kilter, unfiltered vocals. A reminder that for some, even as the sun may beam, the darkness is always creeping.

Upcoming live dates:
15 Nov – Wolpop Fest, Delft Netherlands
29 Nov – TEMPER Festival, Bibelot Dordrecht
3 Dec – The Cat’s Back, Tilburg Netherlands
