Lesley Woods of Au Pairs at LOUD WOMEN Fest 2025 - photo by Ely King

Lesley Woods of Au Pairs is a post-punk goddess who bends time to her will. At LOUD WOMEN Fest 2025, every band had strict 30-minute sets — but Lesley strolled onstage, plugged in, and declared her set would be 45 minutes. A polite schedule reminder? Irrelevant. “Well, it’s quarter past, I’ll start now then,” she said, and launched straight in. When the crowd duly arrived at the allotted time, they were pleasantly surprised to find her in full flow, blasting through a mix of old favourites and newer songs. Pure authority, pure punk, pure magic — Lesley doesn’t follow rules, she sets them.

“A solo performance from the singer from Au Pairs. Admittedly they’re a band I always saw the art work for but never really investigated. With Lesley reviving the project and doing this that’s starting to change. A set mixed with Au Pairs songs and solo aswell as a cover of David Bowie’s Repetition. A really enjoyable set and an amusing yet rude story about the outfit she was wearing.” – John the Punk
