Manchester based singer jasmine.4.t has released a 3 track acoustic EP to fundraise for AKT, a UK charity for LGBTQ+ 16-25 year olds at risk of or experiencing homelessness. You Are The Morning (AKT Fundraiser EP) will be available on Bandcamp till the end of June with all proceeds going to AKT.
Jasmine released her intimate and enchanting debut album You Are The Morning earlier this year after becoming the first UK based musician to sign to Phoebe Bridgers’ label Saddest Factory Records. Her latest EP features three acoustic renditions of songs from You Are The Morning.
There’s a beautiful strength and vulnerability to jasmine.4.t’s lyrics as she writes about transition, family and homelessness. Raw and captivating, the acoustic EP gives a new level of intimacy to songs that are already deeply personal and open.
All the money from these new versions will be donated to AKT, a charity in the UK who support young LGBTQIA+ people through housing emergencies. I was homeless and sleeping on the floors and sofas of Manchester’s queer community while I wrote these songs. The people who supported me during that time became my family and the muses for my album. This is such a beautiful full circle moment for me, to be in the privileged position of being able to pay that debt forward.
