New York City-based indie rock/pop musician and actor Rivkah Reyes shares ‘Ugly Cry’ from her debut EP Fan Favorite, out 6 November.

Co-written with Jesse Aicher, ‘Ugly Cry’ is an insanely addictive power pop bop full of yearning, with the dizzying push and pull of desire and biting lyrics that stay in your head.

“Ugly Cry” is for the girls who go absolutely insane when their girlfriend starts pulling away. I have a disorganized attachment style, so unfortunately I know this dance very well. She pulls away, I chase her. She wants me back, I get bored. I think I might actually enjoy the yearning more than the relationship itself, which is a pretty humiliating thing to admit publicly.”

Reyes adds: “It’s a really fun song about being a deeply exhausting person to date.”

Currently on repeat, ‘Ugly Cry’ is a ‘Fan Favorite’ here at the US LOUD WOMEN headquarters.
