The Twistettes are revving up for the release of Red Door Open, their upcoming third album via Last Night From Glasgow Recordings, and second single ‘Bounce Baby’ proves they’re not taking their foot off the gas.

The Scottish sister duo Jo and Nicky D’arc — affectionately dubbed the Fran and Anna from hell — are at their most feral and focused here. ‘Bounce Baby’ is a snarling, high-octane riot of guttural basslines, scuzzy guitars, and pounding drums, laced with just enough melody to make the chaos irresistible.

Hints of Honeyblood’s grit and Garbage’s 90s snarl creep in, especially in the jagged harmonies and punk-pop pacing of the verses. There’s a playful rockabilly twitch under the distortion, giving the track a swagger that feels both retro and razor-sharp.

Fresh off blowing the roof off the Hope & Anchor in London at the last LOUD WOMEN gig on 12 April, The Twistettes are clearly firing on all cylinders. With Last Night From Glasgow in their corner and an album launch coming up fast (2 May at Ivory Blacks, Glasgow), this could be the record that pushes them further into the recognition they’ve long deserved.
