Derry’s indie-pop maverick ROE is back, and she’s not messing about. ‘The Moment’s Gone’ is a bittersweet, slow-burner of a track that sneaks up on you—all hushed vocals, delicate guitar, and that creeping feeling that time is slipping through your fingers. Think Soccer Mommy meets Big Thief, but with ROE’s signature deadpan honesty running through it.

Written during a bout of full-on life fog (Groundhog Day was involved, apparently), ‘The Moment’s Gone’ captures the frustration of feeling stuck, like you’re watching your own life from the sidelines. But instead of wallowing, ROE spins it into something quietly anthemic—melancholy, yes, but also weirdly comforting.

She’s already got BBC Radio 1, Glastonbury, and a Snow Patrol arena tour under her belt, and this track proves she’s just getting started. Catch her live at Workmans, Dublin on May 22nd—if you’re lucky enough to get a ticket.
