COWZ just dropped the video for ‘Rosalie’ – the final track on their stonkingly good debut EP That’s Cute! Baby – and of course, it’s our #singleoftheweek.
Drenched in sassy, dramatic other-worldliness, the video perfectly reflects all that we have come to expect from the distinctive pair. Tash and Saga are obsessed with the ‘Twilight’ series and love the storyline of Rosalie:
[she is] a vampire who seeks revenge on those who abused her when she was once human. Her whole redemption arch is so inspiring, and we wish there was more detail of her backstory in the books and film. We decided to expand on her story ourselves with this track. In terms of production, the song actually started out as a Grimes inspired dance track, and gradually got heavier and darker as we continued to work on the song. It’s definitely got more edge and we love the electronic and more alternative route we took with this, lots of inspiration from artists from the Spotify Misfits 2.0 playlist, that’s for sure.
