Anarchopop icon Dunstan Bruce (Chumbawumba, Interrobang) – check. Mummycore legends, and our very own, I Doris as a punk-princess chorus – check. A song protesting the ‘going gently’ societal expectation of ageing with a suitably uproarious video to match – check. Ever imagined this combo? Me neither – but I am so glad it’s happened!

It’s very easy to get distracted by the amazing video accompanying this release. Between a punk romp through Brighton and the Dorisification of Dunstan Bruce there is a lot to enjoy! But at the centre of the chaos, as ever with a Doris creation, are lyrics that speak of a determined refusal to give in. Bruce’s classic spoken-singing is the perfect complement to the softer harmonies of the Dorisses, and some great instrumentation ties it all together.

“Did you think I was done, when I needed my specs? ‘Cause I still have a vision – I still have effect!” – I, Doris and Dunstan Bruce
