French garage-pop-punk trio Johnnie Carwash prepare us for their second album with another playful single, ‘Aha (it’s ok)’.

In keeping with their recognizable approach to songwriting, ‘Aha (it’s ok)’ turns commonplace negativity into something fun.

I don’t feel like doing anything ‘cause / Everything I do, I do it wrong / I feel like shit but it’s no news / I feel like this for 20 years

go the opening lines, followed by tuneful ah-ahhs.

The surfer vibes that dash through the song are like nonchalant rays of sunshine, reassuring us that even though life has its obstacles, ‘it’s ok / oh it’s ok.’

‘Aha (it’s ok)’ proceeds ‘I’m a Mess’, which was released in November, and the accompanying video consists of spontaneously captured tour footage. The French group from Lyon will release their new album March 29.
