Bridget. is no stranger to LOUD WOMEN. We’ve been following her progress for years, from LOUD WOMEN Fest London to a brilliant live session on our Resonance FM show, our stage at Rebellion Festival and a contribution to our 10th anniversary compilation. So we’re particularly pleased to name her second EP, For the Hell of It, our EP of the Month.
Following her debut EP Damage Reversal, the new collection draws on grunge, punk and alternative rock, with a running theme of heaven, hell, religion and the peculiar things people choose to worship.
Three of the songs will already be familiar to Bridget.’s followers: ‘Cloud 94’, ‘Hairspray’ and the title track. ‘Hairspray’ was one of our favourites of last year, earning a place in the LOUD WOMEN top 21 songs of 2025. The EP also introduces ‘Beautiful/Violent’, ‘Guts’ and an ‘Interlude’, bringing the different strands of the project together.
For all the religious imagery, Bridget. isn’t trying to deliver some elaborate philosophical statement. Her explanation of the writing process is wonderfully straightforward:
“In spirit of the title ‘For the Hell of It’ I didn’t think too hard about it. If it sounded cool to me and moved me, it stayed.”
Fair enough. Not every song needs a manifesto attached.
Bridget.’s live reputation has been growing considerably, with support slots for The Smashing Pumpkins, Skunk Anansie and Nova Twins, alongside appearances at Glastonbury, Manchester Punk Festival, Bloodstock, Boomtown and Rebellion. We’ve seen her on our own stages enough times to know that she’s an excellent live performer, and it’s been a pleasure watching her reach increasingly bigger audiences.
She marked the EP’s arrival with an Autumn Ball in a 400-year-old church in Ipswich, featuring fellow LOUD WOMEN favourites French Toast, Doll Face, drag performances and a Halloween costume competition. Not your average release party, then.
For the Hell of It brings together an artist we’ve championed for years with a new collection of songs and a suitably eccentric visual world. We’re looking forward to seeing what Bridget. does with it onstage next.
