Johnnie Carwash might just be our new favourite French garage-pop-punk band today, and their hard relate single ‘I’m a Mess’ is the reason why.

“The idea for the song came from personal experiences, those of friends and people we know. As usual, in 80% of our songs we complain about everything we don’t like about ourselves, but for once it’s in a light, provocative tone. We’re airheads, we’re always in a hurry, we’re extra alcoholic, but that doesn’t stop us from having a good time. It’s an anthem for misfits. I don’t think there’s really a moral to the story, just a cry of frustration and emancipation, “just let me be myself”.”

La même – big same.

The band have an album slated for March next year, so fingers crossed for a tour with that.

In the meantime, find them on
