Manchester based singer-songwriter Morgan Harper-Jones is gearing up to release her debut album Up To The Glass on February 23, 2024. She’s released five tracks ahead of the full album, and each one is filled with dreamy instrumentals and lyrics that make you nostalgic, introspective, and emotional all in one.
The album perfectly encapsulates the feeling of navigating your twenties and discovering self-acceptance through all of the good and the bad.
“The full spectrum of human emotion is here, and I hope listeners will recognise themselves and find comfort in these songs in some way.

The lead single ‘Boombox‘ is an energetic pop track where Harper-Jones references many cheesy romantic movies where the protagonist stands outside a love interest’s window with a boombox. In Harper-Jones’ version, the window never opens. Unrequited love is basically a given for your early twenties, and Harper-Jones captures it perfectly.
I'm turning up the boombox hoping you'll hear
If you never notice me will I disappear?
Up To The Glass‘ fifth track ‘Main Character‘ transports me to those late nights where you stare at the ceiling and think of all your shame and regrets from your past. It’s not a negative track though. At the end of the song, Harper-Jones screams as the instrumentals rise and the chorus repeats one last time, telling us its okay to feel these things and ultimately release them. Its the ultimate introspective anthem.
Up To The Glass so far is a gorgeous album that perfectly captures self-acceptance through love, regret, grief, and everything in between. Morgan Harper-Jones writes from experience.
“I feel like I’ve finally accepted that it’s okay to feel however I want to feel without apologising for that, as long as I try my best and don’t behave like an arsehole I’m all good, and this album is a record of getting to this place.”
Up To The Glass will release on February 23rd, 2024 and I for one cannot wait. In the meantime, you can find Morgan Harper-Jones on
