Awesome Loud Woman MIRI will be playing the next LOUD WOMEN Club night at the Piper in St Leonards/Hastings on Thursday 14 July. MIRI is an artist, musician, songwriter, and community activist – and she is also an official member of the LOUD WOMEN Board. Recognised for her distinctive soulful vocal tone and classic British songwriting, her inimitable brand of soulful pop has been heard on various BBC radio shows along with countless independent and community stations but in case you have not had the pleasure of meeting her yet we asked her a few questions.

1. For people who’ve not heard you play live before, what can we expect from you at the LOUD WOMEN gig?

Politics and a stripped back set.

2. What’s the most important thing we need to know about you right now?

I’m a full time musician which has led me to work on various music community projects facilitating and running workshops including ones that focus on mental health. The pandemic was tough and although thankfully work and gigs have picked up this year my freelance orbit is a little uncertain. If people want to support I have my Find Your Voice Merch available on my website or head to my Ko-Fi page and buy me a cuppa for £3.

3. If you could add any musician (live or dead) to your band lineup, who would it be?

Janis Joplin

3. Pass the mic – who are your top 3 contemporary bands?

I recently was a guest moderator for Fresh On The Net and discovered some acts that I wouldn’t have otherwise come across so…the first two would be

Gemini AaliyahSkylu and then my pal Chloe Hawes

4. Draw us a picture…
