Back in May here at LOUD WOMEN we were pleased to introduce new band, Portland-based White Bike when they released their first single ‘I Like You’. Their second single ‘While You Were Away’ dropped on Friday and it’s another banger of a different sort. Where ‘I Like You’ was a cruising, poppy, funky even-keeled ride, ‘While You Were Away’ is a much more seering, distorted, fuzzed-up journey with echoes of some 60’s and some 90’s classics though as they say of it themselves:
…the new single has a buzzed swagger reminiscent of the Kills or even Band of Skulls
This is also true. Always a fan of male/female vocal combo, the voices fuse and spark off each other nicely to add a further dimension to the track.
