Kim Deal is releasing Live at the Barbican, capturing that extraordinary sold-out London show from March 2025, as both a live album and concert film on 13 November via 4AD.
I was there that night, and wrote in my LOUD WOMEN review the following morning that it was “without question, gig of the year so far”. I stand by it.
For the first half of the show, Deal performed her gorgeous debut solo album Nobody Loves You More backed by a 25-piece ensemble and Shards choir, giving songs like ‘Coast’, ‘Summerland’ and the title track the full orchestral treatment. Then came The Breeders catalogue, including ‘Safari’, ‘Off You’ and ‘Do You Love Me Now?’, with Teenage Fanclub’s Raymond McGinley joining for ‘Come Running’ and ‘A Good Time Pushed’.
It was the first time in Deal’s decades-long career that she had performed with an orchestra, and hearing those songs expand to fill the Barbican was properly special. Now, thankfully, the rest of you get to see and hear what we were all making such a fuss about.

Live at the Barbican is out digitally, on CD and limited-edition magenta double vinyl on 13 November, with the film released the same day.
