The Island of Óbuda will once again become the Island of Freedom in the heart of Budapest this August. One of the largest music festivals in Europe, Sziget Festival hosts thousands of concerts, performances, workshops, theatre shows and other activities throughout the week, so it’s easy to feel overwhelmed at first. To make things a little easier, I’ve carefully selected my top 10 must-see artists you won’t want to miss this year!

Morcheeba

Shortly after Sziget opens its gates, Morcheeba will kick off the festival with their dreamy trip-hop melodies. They’re the perfect choice for a relaxed start before the festival really heats up.

Florence and the Machine

A band that needs no introduction. Florence Welch‘s phenomenal, almost spiritual live performances always feel like a warm hug for the soul. Get ready to sing your heart out to ‘Dog Days Are Over’!

Ashnikko

If you’re looking for a high-energy performance, make sure you check out Ashnikko. Known for her vibrant alt-pop style, she went viral on TikTok with her hit song ‘Stupid’ in 2019. Her music is a perfect match for her bold aesthetic, blending feminist themes with punk attitude and bubblegum pop.

Ikkimel

Sziget is well-known for its hot August weather, but Ikkimel surely won’t let the vibe cool down! The Berlin-based rapper brings her spicy, provocative lyrics and hyperpop elements to throw the hottest summer party for Wednesday night.

Sigrid

If you’re in need of a confidence boost, Sigrid‘s performance will be the perfect therapy at Sziget. One of Norway’s biggest pop stars, Sigrid has an authentic stage presence, and her music creates an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

 Zara Larsson

Definitely one of the most anticipated concerts among fans this year at Sziget! Zara has never been afraid to speak her mind, and ready to deliver the main character energy we all need.

ALT BLK ERA

If you’re looking for something heavier, as I always am, ALT BLK ERA are non-negotiable. The sister duo blend alternative, rock and rap influences, and are one of the most exciting artists on this year’s lineup. Definitely don’t miss them.

Wolf Alice

After their sold-out show last November, the English pop-rock band return to Budapest this summer. Dreamy and emotional, but with enough heaviness to have you nodding along to the rhythm. If you missed them last year, now’s your chance to catch them!

Paris Paloma

Her lyrics focus on womanhood, feminine rage, mental health struggles and processing trauma — topics many of us can relate to. After her song ‘Labour’ went viral in 2023, it quickly became an anthem for the goth and alternative scene on TikTok.

Sylvie Kreusch

You might not know Sylvie‘s music yet, but missing this set would be a real shame. Based in Belgium, she combines a gorgeous velvety voice with irresistibly groovy tunes that will quickly draw you into her unique musical world. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great indie music.

Here’s the official aftermovie from last year’s festival to get you in the mood for the Sziget experience. Trust us, the vibe is something special. ✨
