Berlin-based artist, musician and vocalist ANYX releases her debut solo album Starlink.
Known as the frontperson of the trio Anchoress, Anna Lucia Nissen emerges with her solo project ANYX. Co-written with her former Anchoress collaborators Alexander Rathbone and Tobias Textor, Starlink introduces a new layer to Nissen’s artistry.
Mirroring her background as a visual artist, Nissen brings the album to life with her rich tenor voice, building instrumentation and layers of sound throughout.
The album’s title comes from a night spent stargazing, when Nissen realised that what appeared to be stars were actually man-made satellites, reflecting the album’s exploration of the tension between the natural world and the capitalist world around us.
Starlink is a complex and atmospheric debut, blending raw sounds with layered textures and intimate songwriting.
