Porto-based trio The Black Wizards release their fourth album, Force Majeure & The Acts of God.
Made up of Joana Brito (guitar/vocals), José Gomes (bass/vocals) and Helena Peixoto (drums), The Black Wizards unleash gnarly guitar riffs, piercing solos, fiery vocals and sludgy grooves, creating a raw, relentless sound.
The album’s title takes its name from the legal phrase used to describe uncontrollable circumstances, a failsafe in case anything goes wrong. It reflects the world we live in now, where it can feel like everything is beyond our control.
On Force Majeure & The Acts of God, the trio confront the frustration of living in a world where there’s always something new dragging us down. But hopelessness isn’t an option. Instead, The Black Wizards channel that energy into music that hits hard, pushes back and refuses to stay quiet.

At the heart of The Black Wizards is a commitment to grassroots creativity and to being a voice for fellow outsiders.
