Finnish-born, Mexico-raised artist Joalin announces her new EP Perspectiva, out 10 July via LDN Records, alongside the EP’s first single, ‘Toke’. Joalin shares the following about Perspectiva (Spanish for “perspective”):
“It’s a braver side of me. I’ve never been drawn to perfection – I like things that feel raw, a bit imperfect, more real. For me, music is about feeling something, not trying to please everyone. Perspectiva comes from that place, and that’s what makes it feel honest.”
‘Toke’ is a colourful snapshot of Joalin’s ever-changing perspective, inspired by her teenage years growing up in Playa del Carmen.
“I wanted the song to feel like a little scene from that period of my life, calling out characters and places that people from my community would instantly recognise.”
