Melbourne pop artist Kirrilee shares her latest single ‘When The Lights Go Out’.
On this dreamy track, Kirrilee explores the tension between self-perception and reality within a relationship. With her signature diary-entry-style lyrics, ‘When The Lights Go Out’ is raw, honest, and deeply relatable.
“’When The Lights Go Out’ is about that quiet fear of not being truly accepted. Wondering if you’re enough for someone, even when what they really want is for you to be yourself. I wrote it at a point of vulnerability and anxiety in my life, where I realised that I really, really love my partner, and could only hope that they felt the same way. Love is crazy like that. All you can do is put yourself out there and hope the other person feels it too.”
