Jasmine.4.t played London on 28 May, the fifth date of her first ever UK tour. The Manchester-based singer played a hypnotic sold out show at The Lexington with her supporting band Maeve (drums), Emily (bass) and Phoenix (violin and keys).

Opening the show was the enigmatic Grandmas House, a former trio who’ve evolved into an indie/punk/rock four piece. The Bristol band played mostly from their April 2025 EP, Anything For You, with big riffs and a raw energy.

The buzz in the air waiting for jasmine.4.t was palpable and she arrived on stage to loud applause, her signature blue and pink hair vibrant under the Lexington’s lights. Jasmine opened with her album’s first track, ‘Kitchen’, and the audience sang along softly before belting out ‘Guy Fawkes Tesco Disassociation’. Over the course of the gig Jasmine played most of You Are The Morning, her debut album, before finishing with an unreleased song. Phoenix Rousiamanis’ performance was particularly remarkable and her violin playing gave the quieter songs an ethereal beauty.

Jasmine.4.t’s tour has coincided with the UK’s erosion of trans rights; Jasmine was on tour in America with Lucy Dacus when the Supreme Court’s ruling was announced. Between songs Jasmine talked about the importance of solidarity and how special the gigs have been to the band at a time when

“the Supreme Court has just decided that we’re not women”.

In the face of this, Jasmine.4.t is a beacon of strength, joy and defiance.

I’ve listened to You Are The Morning at least a dozen times since it was released, but live I was struck by how gentle and tender the album is in a way I hadn’t realised before. There’s a beautiful sense of newness, not least because Jasmine absolutely glows with love for her community and performing. ‘Roan’, a song dedicated to Jasmine’s partner, was particularly moving with an exquisite softness as Jasmine sang:

“I watched you transform into a flock of ravens/Not long after sunrise/You were showing me divinity/What we are in camaraderie/A world within the sweetness of your skin”.

Jasmine.4.t announced her October/November UK/EU tour on the afternoon of the gig with her next London gig set for Scala. It’s a sizeable leap from the 200 capacity Lexington but with sold out solo dates across the UK, and an American/UK tour opening for Lucy Dacus, it’s not difficult to see why.

Jasmine.4.t has the wonderful ability to make you dance, cry, laugh and headbang within a few minutes. Go see her.
