Brooklyn-based, Chicago-born artist Semiratruth releases their new album, S!M. Written, recorded, produced, and mixed entirely by Semira, the 22-track record marks their first instrumental, electronic-focused album.
“S!M is a project that constantly shifts. None of the songs were created by force. They all spilled out of me through improvisation. It’s deep, it’s fun, it’s outrageous, it’s gorgeous, it’s clever, and then some. I’ve never felt more like me, unapologetically.”

An intense, otherworldly experience, S!M takes us on a trip aboard the spaceship Semira has built throughout their career. The solo instrumental record features guest appearances from Kambaba Jasper and Radia, alongside a vocal performance from Semira themself on ‘Veruca Salt’, a track about the power of manifestation and getting what you want.
“‘Veruca Salt’ developed through my desire to be like that bratty girl from Willy Wonka and be brave enough to state the things that I desire and expect them to come to me. I’m a big believer in manifestation and stating what you want is always the first step of it.”

Blending acid, juke, and baile funk with industrial soundscapes, 1970s cosmic synths, and spiritual jazz, S!M is a celebration of uniqueness and taking risks.
