Sheffield’s Electric Studios has announced a huge Halloween night for Saturday 31 October, headlined by Girls Don’t Sync with Sheffield bassline legend Big Ang, plus Frazer Ray and ESC.
Girls Don’t Sync – Gaia Ahuja, Hannah Lynch, Sophia Ryalls and Matty Chiabi – have gone from the UK club circuit to some of the biggest dance stages around, mixing UK garage, house and bassline with sounds rooted across Black diaspora and South Asian culture.
Putting them at the top of the bill alongside Big Ang makes this one particularly pleasing from a LOUD WOMEN perspective. Big Ang has been part of Sheffield’s dance music culture for more than two decades, while Girls Don’t Sync represent a newer generation of women taking up very big spaces in UK club culture. The Halloween show forms part of a busy first autumn for Electric Studios, with Dusky and Chicane among the electronic programme, alongside live shows from We Are Scientists, Goldie Lookin Chain, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Overpass, Reef, Joshua Idehen and Barenaked Ladies.
Girls Don’t Sync, Big Ang, Frazer Ray and ESC play Electric Studios, 6-7 Leadmill Road, Sheffield, on Saturday 31 October. The event is 18+, with general sale opening Wednesday 7 October at 2pm.
