London-based experimental pop artist Azena shares her new single ‘Chilli Chilli’, our earworm of the week. Blending soul, indie pop and lo-fi jazz, the addictive track brings a cool, playful edge that will have “Chilli Chilli” stuck in your head all day.
“‘Chilli Chilli’ is about enjoying desire without depending on it. Writing this track opened up a space for something lighter and more playful. I wanted it to feel uplifting whilst also intimate, leaning into the fun of flirtation and connection with a sense of ease and confidence.”

The accompanying video, with director Max Rollason, leans into lo-fi, voyeuristic visuals, offering another thrilling glimpse into Azena’s creative universe.
“The lead up to filming consisted of collecting photos of turquoise glass buildings, finding swimming pools online and looking through charity shops for styling inspo. Director Max Rollason and I took on every job, from set designing the hotel room to styling and editing. With the help of our friends, we brought the whole vision to life.”
