Hull singer/songwriter Aimée Fatale shares ‘Summertime Ain’t Easy’, taken from the upcoming deluxe edition of her A Modern Girl EP, out 17 September.
One of two new singles featured on the deluxe edition, ‘Summertime Ain’t Easy’ is a bittersweet summer anthem, blending lightness with heaviness to create a dark daydream. Fatale shares:
“‘Summertime Ain’t Easy’ is about the fear of missing out and feeling like you’re watching everybody around you be so happy, and you’re asking yourself, ‘Why am I not as happy as that?’ I kind of disguised it in this tropical happy song in the spirit of The Beach Boys; a heaviness you can dance to.”
