For 11 years, LOUD WOMEN has operated in a doggedly DIY fashion. Our events are funded by ticket sales, T-shirts and the hard graft of an incredible team of volunteers who do it for the love of the thing.
Throughout that time, we have done everything we can to ensure that the artists who play our events are paid fairly. Until recently, however, we have had very little luck when it comes to funding applications.
That appears to be changing.
We are enormously excited to announce that two LOUD WOMEN festivals have already been awarded significant funding this year.
LOUD WOMEN Fest London, taking place at Rich Mix on Saturday 5 September 2026, has been awarded a National Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England. The programme supports creative and cultural projects that benefit people living in England.
Our first festival in Wales, LOUD WOMEN Fest Newport, taking place at Le Pub on Saturday 3 October 2026, has received National Lottery funding through Tŷ Cerdd – Music Centre Wales. Tŷ Cerdd distributes National Lottery funding on behalf of the Arts Council of Wales to support music activity across Wales.
After 11 years, we know how to fill a room. More importantly, we know how powerful it is when a room full of people comes together to discover, support and celebrate outstanding new music.
But the walls of a venue should never be the limit of how far that music can travel.
This funding will help us pay our artists and continue amplifying their work beyond the festivals themselves. It will allow us to turn up the volume even further, bringing these brilliant bands to more listeners and helping their music reach audiences around the world.
That is what LOUD WOMEN is all about. Our mission has always been to amplify voices that deserve to be heard, on our stages and across the planet.
