American artist Mykki Blanco has released mischievous single ‘Butt Sex’ from upcoming album CAFE PARADISO, out on 4 September via Transgressive Records.
This wonderfully cheeky track follows first single ‘Little Feet‘ in sharing the sound of unabashed queer desire. Between the fast-paced electro pop bass line and his provocative, explicit demands, this is another single that makes the body move with no shame.
‘Butt Sex’ could slide into any house music set and hold its own at the queercore show. Maybe that’s why it is being released as a 3-track single with extended Dance and Dub mixes. Either way, Blanco is calling all his “baddies to the floor!”
Filmmaker, long-time collaborator, and artist Matt Lambert directed the video for the single on a sub-zero Sunday morning in an underground train station. The fun, frenzied visuals for the single feel like a mix of the movie ‘Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas’ and the video for house hit ‘Days Go By‘ by Dirty Dozen. Some moments even resemble Tim And Eric outtakes and the intro of the show Jackass. Tastefully, of course.
‘Butt Sex’ is a fast paced spy thriller. It’s a high speed caper. You’re ducking, you’re dodging bullets, you’re taking a piss in the bad guy’s car. Working on ‘Butt Sex’ with producers Patrick Holland and Physical Therapy was a riot in the studio. I spent hours trying to layer production with my own voice screaming, moaning, groaning, humming. It was mayhem.”
