Jessie from Ankor joined us for a quick chat at Download Festival 2026. We covered everything from anime and musical influences to the band’s current tour, which includes UK dates this December.
Ankor have been around since 2003 and, as you can imagine, have gone through a few changes over the years. Since Jessie joined in 2014, the band has gone from strength to strength. Although they’re from Catalonia, they made the decision early on to write in English rather than Spanish to reach a wider audience – and they’ve managed to do just that while staying true to themselves.
