Lily from Lilith Left the Garden joins LOUD WOMEN for a chat ahead of the band’s appearance at LOUD WOMEN Fest London 2026.
Interviewed by BRIT School student Evie Cross during her work experience with LOUD WOMEN, Lily talks about the deeply personal experiences behind the band’s debut album Kindred Spirits, why she recently took the project in a new direction as a solo-led band with session musicians, and how songs often begin while she’s cooking in the kitchen.
The conversation explores the band’s evolution from post-punk towards a more dance-punk sound, Lily’s commitment to making queer and feminist politics central to the music, plans for a fast, fun new EP, ambitions to tour the UK and Europe, and the powerful unreleased song ‘Bullet’, inspired by her own experience of street harassment and used to start conversations about violence against women.
Lilith Left the Garden play LOUD WOMEN Fest London on Saturday 5 September 2026 at Rich Mix, London.
