CMAT at Bearded Theory Festival 2026 - photo by Hope Small

Saturday at Bearded Theory Festival was slightly lighter for women on stage, but still some favourites.

I, Doris filled out the Something Else Tea Tent early Saturday afternoon with their feminist post-punk attitude. Songs like ‘Beach Body Ready’ and ‘I Do It Myself’ seemed to resonate with their audience and no doubt they walked away from their set with some new fans.

Amelia Coburn gave us a relaxing, almost acoustic set over in the Woodlands and gave her audience a few giggles between songs demonstrating how to keep a crowd engaged even when tuning a guitar.

Kate Nash made it impossible for you to take your eyes off her as she blasted through her short but sweet time on stage. She also loudly supported her drummer recently getting top surgery in a very heart warming moment.

There was no one better to follow Kate Nash on the main stage than CMAT, who brought her Irish charm to Catton Park. Personally, I felt the crowd was way too quiet for her and the her performance – There was minimal movement and next to no response as she tried to interact with the crowd but I have no doubt that everyone was exhausted from the weather and festival experience as a whole.
