Scene Queen - Photo by Kasey Karlsen

Nothing is more daring than making a stylish entrance, and Hannah Rose Collins aka Scene Queen is a true expert at it. Picture a metal singer in a pink tracksuit, drenched in Y2K aesthetics and glitter. Now imagine that this very artist coined the term “bimbocore” to describe her unique blend of metalcore, hyperpop and trap, wrapped in an overtly pink feminist message. She sums it up better than anyone: “It’s always been about being a conservative person’s worst nightmare”.

Don’t be fooled by the angelic image. Within a historically male-dominated heavy music scene, Scene Queen’s hyper-constructed femininity is her sharpest tool for political provocation. For years, she has used her lyrics to tackle harassment, misogyny and objectification, filtering those themes through black humour, irony and exaggeration. “Tracksuit” is her boldest statement yet.

The premise is deceptively simple: someone has left a non-pink tracksuit in your house. What follows is a spiralling monologue that moves from that discovery to a double murder arrest – the boyfriend and the best friend – narrated with chilling calm by someone who has already made up her mind. The Juicy Couture reference is both the song’s funniest joke and its sharpest symbol, turning hyper-feminine aesthetics into a threat detection system. Even the “boys will be boys” refrain carries weight: a phrase long used to excuse male behaviour is weaponised here with lethal consequences. The crazy girlfriend isn’t crazy; they made her that way.

The visualiser pushes the concept to the extreme, blending slasher aesthetics, hyperpop chaos, gore-soaked Harley Quinn energy and endless 2000s references into the fully realised bimbocore universe.

Musically, it’s easily her heaviest track to date, driven by brutal breakdowns and explosive shifts between melody and growls. The contrast is so sharp it almost sounds like two different vocalists, recalling performers like Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox or Tatiana Shmayluk from Jinjer. Meanwhile, the riffs carry the direct bounce of modern alt-rock, built around massive sing-along hooks and the theatricality of Hot Milk or WARGASM. Think performative rage, aggressive sexuality and perfectly controlled chaos.

“Tracksuit” isn’t subtle, and that’s exactly the point. Press play, enjoy the carnage, and check out her upcoming UK and EU tour dates below!
