The first LOUD WOMEN album of the month for 2026 is from LA-based trio Blackwater Holylight and their latest album, Not Here Not Gone.
Vocalist and guitarist/bassist Sunny Faris, guitarist Mikayla Mayhew, and drummer Eliese Dorsay moved from their hometown of Portland, Oregon three years ago. Leaving behind the gloom of Portland skies, along with familiar friendships, routines, and routes, they traded it for the warmth of Los Angeles and a freefall without the safety net of the known.
“If there were to be a theme to the album, it would be patience. Some of these songs we’ve been working on for three years, just giving the songs time to breath and develop while we were exploring a new place and new lives.”
