Los Angeles–based songwriter Morgan Nagler has announced her debut solo album I’ve Got Nothing to Lose, and I’m Losing It (out 13 March 2026 via Little Operation Records and More) and it lands with the absolute joy of new single ‘Grassoline’. Warm, strummed guitars set the tone from the first second – golden, open-road, immediately addictive – while Nagler’s voice floats easy and confident, wrapped in gorgeous, soft harmonies that make the whole thing feel like it’s smiling at you.
“I know Jesus ain’t gonna save me
And if he does that’d just be crazy
But God gave me a will divine to get by on my own
To go and see all of the daisies
Get to sleeping like a baby
Good old fashioned grassoline always gets me where I wanna go.”
There’s a cheeky lightness to ‘Grassoline’ that only works because it’s grounded in craft. A songwriter for more than half her life, Nagler has written with everyone from Phoebe Bridgers (co-writing the Grammy-nominated ‘Kyoto’) to HAIM and Kim Deal, but this is her fully stepping into the spotlight. The song’s weed-loving, freedom-seeking spirit never feels throwaway – it’s catchy as hell, but it’s also tender, self-possessed and deeply human.
Written during a period of upheaval and heartbreak, I’ve Got Nothing to Lose, and I’m Losing It is described by Nagler as an album rooted in “realist hope,” and ‘Grassoline’ captures that perfectly: not naive, not bitter, just choosing joy where it can be found.
