Following the release of their fourth album, Everything’s On Fire But I’m Fine, As December Falls kicked off the UK leg of their tour with aplomb in London at a sold-out Electric Ballroom in Camden.

The Nottingham based quartet thoroughly enjoy themselves on stage while setting the place on fire with their guitar heavy powerful pop punk with circle/mosh pits going through most of the set from ‘Carousel‘ until the slower ballad ‘Rewrite‘, much later in the set, with plenty of crowdsurfers, especially during ‘Ride‘, all the way back from their self titled debut album. The front trio, led by Bethany on vocals, own the stage, showcasing their individual skills while coming together so cohesively.

Highlights of the set included a scary grim reaper fighting the band during ‘Grim Reaper‘, very apt for halloween; Emmy from opening band Red Hook joining them for ‘Fall Apart‘, the two of them playing off each other’s vocals bringing new heights to the song; and the boys giving Bethany a break while they performed a cover of Blink 182‘s ‘I Miss You’.

Red Hook themselves brought their infectious energy all the way from Australia to open throughout the European and UK tour. Blending a mix of genres into their rock, with Emmy breaking out the occasional screams; a saxophone making an appearance for ‘Soju‘, accompanied by a combination handwaving/giving the middle finger; and more metal elements for songs like ‘Hexxx‘.

Embracing the Halloween theme of the weekend as they get the crowd thoroughly warmed up, Emmy dons a couple of fitting outfits including a bloodstained dress á la Carrie and a straight jacket and Hannibal Lecter mask. Finishing their set by ramping up the chaos even more unleashing beachballs into the crowd for their best known song ‘Bad Decisions‘.
