Los Angeles trio Automatic shares dark lullaby ‘Mercury’ – another preview of their upcoming album, Is it Now?, out 26 September via Stones Throw.

Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Halle Saxon Gaines (bass, vocals), and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) use dark humor and their signature blend of deviant pop to push back against the world’s oppressive structures.

Izzy says the lyrics of ‘Mercury’ are a reminder “not to fall into nihilism or cynicism, to instead see life through a bit of a spiritual lens. Despite the horrible shit constantly happening, life can still be mysterious and beautiful. I wanted to lean into a sense of dreaminess, and to have the verses feel like a dark lullaby.”
